A 38-year-old man has died following a mass shooting at a park in New York City.
Eleven other people - including a child - were injured as a hail of gunfire erupted at Brownsville Playground in Brooklyn at around 11pm on Saturday night.
The area was teeming with locals who were out celebrating 'Old Timers Week' - an annual community block party in its 56th year.
A single shooter - still at large - is believed to be responsible for the tragedy, according to The New York Post.
Following the incident, scores of police and EMS response teams descended upon the area before victims were rushed to nearby hospitals.
Detectives were seen pacing the area, with one abandoned firearm found among discarded cups and bottles that littered the ground following the festival.

@mr1stroke who ever is in office will not stop anyone who made up in his mind that he wants to kill someone. there are more white people killing each other then there are black people killing each other, but you dont comment on that. What have you ever done to help one black person up that you are not related to? I see in one of your past comments that your family owns a business between Brooklyn and Queens.. reading your past comments gives me the impression that you are sucking all you can out of the black communities and at the same time, turning your back to them. You come across as nothing more then a white slave owner in black skin.
you voted for De blasio but look at your community, you voted for Cuomo he never acknowledge the crimes in the community, a vcity that takes away the right ofr self defense from innocent citizens, but events like this prove how they dont care about the black community, with so many NYPD at that event but 2 people open fire not one of them were caught, you people are idiots, how long have i been telling you people, the community will be like a war zone, its sad, i cant count how many festival i have been through so far this summer and people just like each other, many fairs for the kids, but the negros cant even come outside or sit in front of their houses, but cant even get together to an event, there is no way you will catch me in those neighborhood, i already know the outcome, people in brooklyn know better not to invite me over their house for bbq imagine me at a block party, f*** no, let the niggers kill each other, while the politicians smile and get funding to fattening their pockets
