Evil Anthony Laine, 30, was sleeping in a tent when he launched the horrific assault near the River Severn in Bewdley, Worcs., in August last year. A court heard the vile thug raped the victim twice and beat her so badly her skull was smashed into two pieces. The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was left with a "floating face" - a medical term for when the front of the face becomes detached from the skull. Her injuries were so severe that doctors compared them to those suffered during a car crash or as a result of "a high velocity impact with heavy object". Laine pleaded guilty to two charges of rape and inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent at Worcester Crown Court on Friday (23/2).
