Effects of obesity on health
Obesity, especially central obesity (waist predominantly) is a major risk factor for the "metabolic syndrome" (also called "syndrome X"), which is a compendium of many diseases that predispose strongly cardiovascular disease. These diseases are type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, high cholesterol and high triglyceride levels (combined hyperlipidemia). An inflammatory condition, together with the above, has been associated with a high incidence Detox Slim of arteriosclerosis (fatty deposits in artery walls) and prothrombotic states which can aggravate cardiovascular risk.
In addition to the metabolic syndrome, obesity also has been associated (in population studies) with a variety of complications.
