WINSOME BENJAMIN is an international reggae artiste who has made an impressive mark across the world particularly in GERMANY, the USA, CANADA and indeed THE CARIBBEAN. Born and raised in Clarendon Jamaica, Winsome began singing in church at the very tender age of four and even at that stage it was evident that she would dominate in the field of singing. As time progressed she sought to develop and prepare for her singing career and in 1994 she migrated to Germany where she began singing professionally. There she traveled extensively in areas such as Kiel, Hamburg, Bremen, Muenster and Berlin where she ultimately acquired the German language which she speaks so eloquently and frequently today. Her German experience enabled her to explore her opportunities and to go for the gold that she was destined to have. Through rehearsing, voice training, composing and learning new songs, her voice had elevated to an unbelievable level courtesy of the expertise that her teachers possessed who opened up her mind to the technicalities of singing. By then, her passion began to soar throughout other European countries like Sweden, Netherlands and Switzerland and her audience dramatically expanded. Fascinated radio personalities and televisions hosts began to interview Winsome as they believed that she had a magnificent talent which was incomparable.
Evidently, her charisma touched everyone who came into her presence. She then became that force to be reckoned with when she produced and released her first gospel album entitled "Live for Jesus” in 1997. Her hit single "My Sweet Lord” made famous by George Harrison (The Beatles) was produced and released in 2000 by Desi Jones. Songs which made her more famous were "Bring The Family Back” (Billy Paul) and "Give It Up For Jesus “ both of which were released in 2002. Winsome later made another significant mark in the music industry when she performed in 2000 on the "Gospel Train" which was promoted by Tommy Cowan and Carlene Davis of Glory Music. There she shared the stage with some of Jamaica’s finest in gospel.
Winsome has also performed with prominent entertainers such as Inner Circle, Hip Hop star Bobby Valentino, Doug E Fresh, Ken Boothe, Lady G, Cecile, Queen Ifica, Machel Mantano, Daville, Chevelle Franklyn, Carlene Davis, Tarus Riley, Ken Boothe, The Grace Thrillers, Gramps Morgan, BB Seaton, Ernie Smith, Junior Tucker, Papa San, John Holt, Lt.
