Of course, those courses are useful, even if you have good English, and you can talk without any problems, there still are some terms, from the IT field that you need to learn. When I passed my internship at Swift Communications, they forced us to pass a mandatory English course that contains a lot of IT terms and notions. Well, I passed that test easily, because to be honest, it is a simple test, but still, you won't lose anything if you pass it.
