Marshall secures F1 SCALEXTRIC TITLE in Trinidad and Tobago (Slot Car racing)

LORNE MARSHALL triumphed at the Scalextric Champions of Champions Formula One race at the Valpark Shopping Plaza, Valsayn on Saturday.

Marshall, in the third stage of the event, had a score of 20 laps in one minute and one second and, in the deciding race, he completed 20 laps in one minute and four seconds.

Overall, his total was 76 laps and he walked away with the Amsoil Prolube Limited gold medal, Champion of Champions Trophy with a replica, and a gallon of Amsoil Motor Oil.

Second place went to Junior Joseph, who took stage one with a score of 20.1 laps in a time of one minute and three seconds. With an overall tally of 74.1, he got the Amsoil silver medal and a gallon of Amsoil.

Taking third place was David Deane - who won the second stage with 20.2 laps in a record time of one minute flat. He collected the Amsoil bronze medal and a gallon of Amsoil for his score of 73.6.

In the Malta Carib-sponsored Open Championship, Irwin Henry prevailed with a score of 77.9, in the process he got the Malta Carib gold medal, the Open Championship Challenge Trophy with a replica, and a case of Malta Carib.

Shaun Ready got the silver medal and a case of Malta Carib for his total of 74.2, Dion Jackson was third with 73.9 (he got a bronze medal and a case of Malta Carib) while Anthony Teemul was fourth with 71.9 - he got a case of Malta Carib for his performance.

In 2012, the Model Car Association of Trinidad and Tobago plans to make a tour of Grand Cayman in July as well as participate in the Caribbean Championships in Guyana in August.

Among the sponsors of the Champions of Champions tournament were the Ministry of Sport, Holiday Snacks, Kiss Baking Company, Unilever, Ginseng Up, Nestle Kit Kat, Malta Carib, Amsoil Prolube Limited and CNC3.
