The Sailing

On Friday May 14, 2010 the Calabash Consortium will host its U.S. launch and benefit fundraiser titled "The Sailing" at the New York Times Center in Manhattan, New York at 7:00P.M.

The Sailing will take the form of a benefit fundraiser marrying drinks (open bar), entertainment, fine cuisine, music, and presentations - all with a Caribbean flair.

Caribbean Soca stars Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons-Alvarez and Kevin Lyttle, and Soul/Pop artiste Ano Okera are confirmed to perform and invited guests include Akon, Nia Long, John Legend, Wyclef Jean, Heather Headley, Rihanna and Jasmine Sullivan.

Celebrity DJ Fa-Delf will DJ.

Proceeds from this event will provide necessary funding to implement the Calabash Caravan, a multi-island youth research and empowerment initiative commencing June 2010 in Trinidad and Tobago.
