The basketball star, 32, is alleged to have slept with a dancer who works at a gentlemen's club in New York, who now says she is six and a half months pregnant.
It comes as it was revealed on Monday that Carmelo and his actress wife La La, 37, had gone their separate ways.

A source had told TMZ on Monday that the couple, who have 10-year-old son Kiyan, are now 'living separately'.
'La La moved out of the family home last week and has her own place in NYC now,' the source said.
The split was put down to Carmelo being stressed over the possibility of being traded by the New York Knicks.

Speaking about her marriage last year, La La - who is close friends with Kim Kardashian - told Access Hollywood they had their 'up and downs'.
She said: 'If anyone says in 10 years you don’t go through ups and downs, they’re lying to you. We’re in a real relationship.
'We have our ups and we have our downs, but we definitely work through them, and we’re great right now.'
The couple began dating in 2004 and got married in 2010, with the ceremony shown on their reality series La La's Full Court Wedding.

In your face: Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett exchange some harsh words in this photo taken at Madison Square Garden on Monday night
A raunchy reference to Honey Nut Cheerios left basketball star Carmelo Anthony anything but happy and healthy, and fueled his rage during a fight on the court, it was revealed today.
Tempers flared between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett during their game on Monday.
From replays of the conflict, it's not clear what set Anthony off, but one suggestion was that Garnett insulted his wife, reality star La La Vasquez, with a reference to the popular breakfast cereal.

Black Sports Online.com reported that Garnett told Anthony, 'you're wife tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios,' citing sources that were present for the game.
After a team practice yesterday, Anthony would not say what it was that set him off.

He told the New York Post: 'There's certain things that you just don’t say to men, another man. I felt like we crossed the line.'
A friend of Anthony's added that the Knicks star 'really, really had a reason' and took a jab at Garnett, saying: 'KG must’ve never gotten hugged [as a child], but Melo's OK now.'
The two NBA titans could be seen getting physical with each other in the fourth quarter, and were seen pushing and shoving each other while exchanging words.
Anthony and Garnett jawed from baseline to midcourt, but Anthony still had more to say.
Tthe Knicks forward went toward the Celtics locker room after the game to keep shouting, taking his frustrations from the court right along with him and perhaps risking an NBA suspension.
Anthony left without talking to reporters and the Knicks wouldn't comment on Anthony's postgame trip in the wrong direction, but Celtics coach Doc Rivers didn't deny it.
'I'm going to let you all figure that one out. I'm going to stay out of that,' Rivers said. 'If it was the playoffs I'd tell on him, but since it's not I'm going to just be quiet.'
Rivers didn't need to.
Security had to step in and send Anthony back in the right direction, as it went to its postgame show, and the league likely will investigate and could penalize the Knicks' leading scorer.
And if that wasn't enough, Anthony got into a shouting match beside the Celtics team bus outside Madison Square Garden.
Comcast SportsNet New England posted a video on its website showing Anthony waiting near the bus after the game, with Knicks coach Mike Woodson and New York City police nearby.

In a video obtained by TMZ, Anthony and Garnett, can be seen continuing their shouting match outside.
Though a crowd formed to keep the athletes from touching each other, they can clearly be seen towering over everyone else, yelling insults at each other.
The matter is under investigation by NBA officials, which may choose to slap Anthony with a fine or a suspension.
The Celtics won the game by a score of 102-96.
