Rihanna just made history as there first Black woman to grace the cover of British VOGUE’s coveted September issue.
The singer/actress/ business mogul shared the good news on Instagram. “September issue of @britishvogue, styled by @edward_enninfuland shot by @nick_knight, on newsstands Friday August 3. Wearing a @prada dress and gloves @savagexfentylace body. Hair by @yusefhairnyc, make-up by @isamayaffrench using @fentybeauty, floral artistry by @azumamakoto, nails by @jennynails and set design by @tomotattle,” she posted.
The superstar donned a pink Prada dress for the cover shot along with gloves from her own line, Savage x Fenty.
Inside, she wore more of her own looks and plenty of floral head pieces.
The spread was styled by the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful, and photographed by Nick Knight.
“I always knew it had to be Rihanna,” Enninful wrote in the magazine’s editor’s letter. “A fearless music-industry icon and businesswoman, when it comes to that potent mix of fashion and celebrity, nobody does it quite like her. No matter how haute the styling goes, or experimental the mood, you never lose her in the imagery. She is always Rihanna. There’s a lesson for us all in that. Whichever way you choose to dress the new season, take a leaf out of her book and be yourself.”
