Despite coming to blows with his father, assault charges dropped against Wendy Williams’ son

After a blowup between father and son that came down to fists swinging, it turns out Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr., won’t have to face assault charges.

The younger Hunter, 18, was charged for punching his dad Kevin Sr., in the face during a fight that was said to have started because he confronted his dad about his demand for spousal support from Williams. Hunter reportedly cheated on Williams, which allegedly was the catalyst that made Williams file for divorce.

Hunter ultimately didn’t want to press charges against his son and on Tuesday, Kevin Jr. appeared in court to offer his not guilty plea. Prosecutors decided against moving forward with the case and the charges were ultimately dropped.

According to TMZ, the father and son got into a heated argument back in May in the parking lot of a store in New Jersey. Sources claim the two were arguing about Kevin’s demand for spousal support from his wife. Hunter allegedly called 18-year-old Kevin Jr. “brainwashed” and proceeded to put him in a headlock. Kevin Jr. then reportedly punched his father in the face.

According to a source, “Kevin Jr. was a bit aggressive towards his father and his father tried to control the situation,” The source said, according to ET. “Kevin Jr. then punched his father in the face and the cops were called sometime later. Kevin Sr. and Kevin Jr. have always had a great relationship. Not everything is as it appears and Kevin Sr. looks forward to moving past this.”

Williams recently returned to the air after a five-week hiatus and told her audience she was using the time to reflect.

“I was just a woman relaxing and gathering my thoughts,” she said about the use of her vacation time. “I had my books, my thoughts, thinking about you, but mostly gathering my life for me, and my son and my family.”

She also spoke briefly about her new boyfriend.

Wendy was off the air for the last 50 days, while dealing with health issues related to her Graves disease.

She came back to the show this morning and discussed her absence from the show.

“I can’t even tell you how many doctors I have,” she said, acknowledging she went through a plethora of MRIs, CAT scans and blood pressure tests.

Page Six reported that, "Perhaps in an effort to dismiss headlines claiming her absence was the result of husband Kevin Hunter’s alleged abusive behavior and affairs, Williams said he accompanied her to various medical appointments."

Wendy confirmed to the audience that she's still married, still in love and that her union is stronger than ever.

Wendy showed off her $1 million wedding ring to the audience, and told them that her marriage to Kevin is for life. She explained, "Until you see me without this ring, which will never happen, don't worry about my marriage."

“I’m sorry it took me almost 50 days,” she said. “I know it’s been a long time. I’m sorry, but I can say, it’s not going to happen anymore, and I feel good!”

'I was a mess': Emotional Wendy Williams breaks down in tears as she returns to work looking refreshed after life-threatening battle with Graves' disease

TV’s Wendy Williams had an emotional moment at the beginning of her show on Thursday, taking some time to discuss the fatal shooting at a California bar that left 13 people dead.

“So we all woke up this morning with the horrible news,” Williams told her audience after setting in her chair on her stage.
She went on to offer details about the mass shooting at the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, Calif., Wednesday night when the bar was packed.
“They were hosting their college country music night, 18 and above,” Williams said, staring at the audience, eyes glistening.
Williams paused.
“How old’s your kid? Mine’s 18,” she said, appearing to fight back tears as she referred to her son, Kevin Hunter Jr.
“I feel a ways,” Williams said. “I always feel a ways but I feel particularly a ways. Thirteen people were killed including the gunman and one sheriff.”
Williams added, “No comment,” with a wave of her hand as she reached for a Q-tip on her side table and dabbed it at the corner of her eyes – her signature move to stop her makeup from running when she gets misty-eyed on air.
“I’m not crying – I’m misty,” she said in an apparent attempt to add some humor to a painful moment.
The audience wasn’t having it though and they remained sober-faced.
“You catch the mist with a Q-tip,” she said, dabbing at her eyes.
“And now, how do we go on to the rest of Hot Topics?” Williams asked her audience about her segment on celebrity gossip and shade.
Williams attempted to continue with a piece on Missy Elliott, saying that she loves the rapper because they both are fighting thyroid disease and zodiac signs. But her attempt at continuing did not work and she continued to dab at her eyes with Q-tips.
“Damn, you got that shot – good, camera person,” Williams said. “Alls I’m saying is, ‘When will it stop?’ And I think that it’s more mental illness than anything. I don’t believe terrorism. They still have to investigate. But the mental illness has got people on the loose and being ignored.”
The shooter, who is dead, was identified as Ian Long, a 28-year-old former Marine.

She then gave an extra-special shout out to her husband Kevin.

'And I have to really credit my family, you know, my son Kevin and also my husband Kevin, the love of my life. I could not have done this without you,' said Williams.

'I have been having bats swimming in my head since maybe July. Didn't tell anybody because I figured, well, it's menopause. Whole bunch of things going on, you know, I had more important things to do. I have to miss this doctor's appointment because there's more important things to do. I missed the one in August. More important things to do. What? I don't know. More important things to do.'

She continued: 'I missed the one in late September. By this particular point, the bats are really swimming but more important things to do. As long as I get out there, stand on my mark, I can go right back home. More important things to do.

'We put so many things ahead of ourselves and our health, it' ridiculous. So I want to thank my husband because I heard him talking to Dr. Oz on the phone. He got Dr. Oz all up in the house. All involved.

'So Kevin, thank you for calling Dr. Oz and thank you so much for ushering me through wellness. Kevin, thank you so much. And also, thank you to the boy as well. He was a good one as well.'

Williams was in tears once more when Dr. Oz appeared on the program to discuss her medical issues with the audience.

In her first interview since she took that leave of absence to manage her medical condition, Williams told Amy Roach on Good Morning America that her life was at risk after years of putting her job ahead of her health.

'I met a great team. I learned that I was very deficient in Vitamin D,' revealed Williams.

'My internist told me that I was if not the worst case of Vitamin D deficiency she has ever seen in her career.'

Williams also revealed that Graves' disease was just one of the medical conditions she was dealing with t the time.

'I have vertigo, which I've had all my life and was affecting my equilibrium. Just a mess going on inside my body,' said the host.

'But I'm saved.'

Williams is now doing her best to put herself first for the sake of her health.

'We as women, particularly if we have families, you know we're taking care of children, we're taking care of home, our husbands. We're taking care of everyone but ourselves,' said the 53-year-old mother.

'I'm not doing that any more. Wendy first.'

Williams also urged her fans to not feel pity for her when they see her in public and greet her with a 'how you doin'' as opposed to looking at her with puppy eyes.

'I'm Wendy, I'm not that girl, come one on now,' said Wendy.

'Throw your dubs up.'

Robach asked Williams during the interview if she now sees a connection between her incidents on the show and her deteriorating medical condition.

'Do you think now that perhaps that fainting spell you had on live television had something to do with the Graves or with your thyroid?' asked Robach at one point.

'Okay - I had missed three doctors' appointments with my endocrinologist. He's the one who handles my thyroid and Graves,' said Williams, who goes on to admit that her health was 'at the bottom of the list.'

'I'm functioning okay. I'm a feeling a little weird, but I'll get through it. And I went in February and that's where I found, whoa, your levels are way off,' Williams explains to Robach.

Then she got the news she did not expect to hear - she would have to take time off from the show.

'How did you receive that information?' asked Robach.

'I cried, and then I laughed. 'Are you out of your mind? It's sweeps,' said Williams adding a it go humor.

'And what did he say back to you?' responded Robach.

'Do you want to be swept?'

Mother liberty: Wendy first caused concern when she toppled over back in October while hosting her Halloween episode (above)

Williams previously appeared on Good Morning America back in November, when she opened up about the scary moment she collapsed on live television while hosting the Halloween episode of her eponymous talk show.

'People thought that I was having a stroke on TV,' said the host, who was dressed as the Statue of Liberty at the time.

'And other people thought that I was having a heart attack.'

That was not the case however according to the 53-year-old Williams.

'You know, I'm a woman of a particular age. I'm also going through menopause,' explained Williams.

'I didn't think my costume was hot when I first tried it on. It was a catsuit, if it was a dress I'd be like this. You know, like oh my god, I'm hot.'

The incident was so surreal said Williams, that even her crew thought it was all a stunt.

Paramedics arrived on the scene soon after, and an hour later Williams was headed back home to New Jersey with her husband Kevin looking no worse for the wear.

'Apparently I was dehydrated according to the paramedics, and instead of drinking regular water I had electrolyte drinks,' said Williams.

'Then, you know, I went to my own doctors and I'm fine including blood work.'

Robach then asked Williams how she was even able to get herself back up off the floor and finish out the episode.

'Well, I'm not your average talk show host,' said Williams.

'You know, it's pretty special thing to be a Wendy Williams. It takes a lot.'

As for Williams taking any time off, that is not in the cards, with the host saying 'that's what the weekend is for.'

A month prior to that incident, DailyMail.com reported that Williams' husband Kevin Hunter was leading a double life and engaging in a secret long-term affair with a younger massage therapist.

Wendy Williams stumbles into a fan at the end of her show

Last week, the daytime talk star canceled three days of filming for the first time in her show's decade-long run. On an Instagram video, she told viewers she had been 'flu-ish with complications.'

But her appearances of late have led to speculation that she may have other issues. Her eyes appeared glazed and twitchy while her speech was rambling and she took long pauses.

Cameras caught Williams stumbling into audience members on February 12 and the following day she caused alarm by 'swooning' on set.

Footage shows the host shaking hands with one of her guests while walking down the stairs of the set before momentarily losing her balance and then latching on to an audience member for support.

Williams looked startled as she appeared to have become woozy during the segment.

She admitted on her show that her condition has left her wobbly on her feet.

The TV star's medical condition was revealed as staffers at her show disclosed their deeper concerns to DailyMail.com about her fragile condition.

'She looked like she was going to faint live on-air. She has gotten so thin to the point that it doesn't look good,' one show insider told DailyMail.com.

After her show on Tuesday, Wendy was pictured being helped to her SUV. She had ditched her vertiginous heels for flat ballet pumps and was gripping the arm of a security guard as she gingerly made her way out of the stage door.

Wendy first fainted publicly during a special Halloween episode of her show in October. While dressed as in a Statue of Liberty costume, she was addressing the audience when she began to wobble, stagger backwards and abruptly dropped to the floor.

The show cut to a lengthy commercial break, before she returned to tell viewers: 'That was not a stunt. I overheated in my costume and I passed out. I am a champ and I am back.'

However she was forced to prop herself up on a podium and struggled to speak as she announced the winners of a costume contest. Moments after her fainting fit, an ambulance arrived at the set and a wheelchair was brought inside. Wendy was seen leaving soon afterwards in an SUV, waving and smiling alongside her husband, Kevin Hunter.

The TV star 'is dehydrated and is on her way home for a good day and night of sleep' a spokesman later said.

There were also concerns that the stress of her home life could be affecting her health.

In September, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that Hunter, 46, has been leading a double life and engaging in a secret long-term affair with a 32-year-old massage therapist.

Hunter has been seeing Sharina Hudson for more than 10 years, splitting his time between the New Jersey home he shares with Wendy and their teenage son Kevin Jr, and a secluded suburban house that he bought for his mistress just nine miles down the road.

Wendy and Kevin married in 1997. And this wasn't the first time the TV host's husband has been caught in a cheating scandal.

She has admitted that she spent ten years battling a cocaine addiction, describing it as 'a demon I had to overcome' to People.

The 53-year-old star also lost a dramatic amount of weight in recent years which she credits to her vegan diet and cutting out refined sugar.

She has said previously: 'I don't believe in fad diets and crash diets. I don't believe in diet pills, I don't want my heart to race out of my chest.'

She has also admitted to having liposuction to hone her stomach area, along with other surgery, including a breast augmentation and implants, and a face lift, along with Botox and laser treatment to reduce scarring.

Real Housewives' Wendy Williams and NeNe Leakes nearly come to blows in Atlanta

  • The cold war between NeNe Leakes and Wendy Williams erupted at a women's empowerment seminar in Atlanta on Sunday
  • Not only were both women were registered as keynote speakers, they also spoke back-to-back
  • And their dressing rooms were right next to each other
  • Wendy's husband manager Kevin Hunter went ballistic
  • The bad blood began when Wendy called NeNe out for a tweet about reality stars

Forget the boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao - the showdown this past weekend took place in Atlanta, Georgia, at The Ultimate Women's Expo at Georgia World Congress Center between talk show host Wendy Williams, 50, and reality show star NeNe Leakes, 47.

Both Williams and Leakes appeared at the expo, that was billed as 'the nation's largest event designed for active women' in Atlanta. It was the first time the former friends were in the same building since the Real Housewives of Atlanta star vowed never to appear on the TV talk queen's daytime show in July 2013.

On Sunday, when Williams and her entourage arrived at the Georgia World Congress Center they realized her dressing room was right next to Leakes. Her husband/manager Kevin Hunter demanded the event organizers move Leakes' dressing room, a source close to the expo told Daily Mail Online.

Clash: Wendy Williams (left) and NeNe Leakes clashed bitterly at the women's empowerment seminar

'Kevin was adamant that he wanted his wife nowhere near NeNe! He told them to move her as far away as possible,' the source revealed.

Williams took the stage at 1pm to do a keynote address to the thousands in attendance and talked about 'ten rules every woman should live by.'

She was followed on stage by Leakes at 1:45pm, who addressed the screaming fans by saying: 'I'm your home girl. I live my life as an open book and I'm happy I don't need ten rules to live by!'

That set Williams' husband off!

According to the eyewitness, Kevin pushed through the curtains and stormed the stage and was cursing at the top of his lungs. 'He kept yelling 'get her m*********ing ass off the stage. We don't f*** with her! Wendy don't f*** with her. Cut that b****'s mic off!'' the source recalled.

As Hunter began to storm up the stage steps, Leakes best friend Diana Gowins jumped up to confront him. Gowins, who has been featured on both Real Housewives of Atlanta and Leakes' wedding special I Dream of NeNe, yelled back at him: 'What the hell is your problem? If you have a problem with NeNe, take it up with me!'

The two stood there and exchanges verbal spars while Leakes continued with her presentation, completely unaware of the chaos ensuing on the side of the stage she insists.

Event organizers called for security to come and diffuse the situation and Hunter went back through the curtains where Williams was signing copies of her book, Ask Wendy: Straight-Up Advice for All the Drama in Your Life.

'Kevin clearly realized that Diana wasn't going to let him onstage and wasn't backing down. So he turned around and made Wendy cut her book signing short. The crowd began to boo.

'By the time Kevin and Wendy got through the other side of the curtains, the event organizers and security were waiting for them and four police officers escorted them off the premises and to their waiting car,' the source disclosed.

Organizers for The Ultimate Women's Expo had to refund 80 tickets for patrons who paid to get autographed books from Williams but couldn't because her husband made her leave abruptly. Leakes never learned of the dramatic scene until after she got off stage.

During an appearance on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live on Sunday night, host Andy Cohen asked her did something happen with her and Williams early that day.

Leakes confirmed that the incident transpired. 'I didn't even see Wendy or her husband today. But a lot happened backstage with her husband, I heard. Just because I was on stage, he went completely crazy, I heard,' she answered.

Williams and Leakes became friendly during the early seasons of Williams' talk show because Leakes would regularly come on the show to promote Real Housewives of Atlanta.

The cold war between NeNe Leakes and Wendy Williams erupted again at a women's empowerment seminar. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star and the popular talk show host renewed their war of words, with the setting being the Atlanta Ultimate Women?s Expo at the Georgia World Congress Center. Not only were both women were registered as keynote speakers, but they spoke back-to-back, with Leakes appearing onstage at 1 p.m. and Williams appearing at 1:30 p.m.

During one appearance, Leakes gifted the TV host with a $3,200 black Celine Phantom Bag. Williams in turn appeared on Season four of The Celebrity Apprentice in an episode at a pizza shop to present Leakes with a check for her team's fundraising task.

But the relationship soured in July 2013 during a Hot Topics segment on Williams' talk show where she discussed how Leakes had been receiving backlash online for a Twitter message criticizing the amount of new reality shows.

'Just saw a list of all the new reality shows that r coming soon! Everybody is a reality star now! WOW! I gotta go,' - Leakes message read.

During Hot Topics, Williams offered: 'Yeah, NeNe, everybody is a reality star now. In case you've noticed, people watch more reality shows than sitcoms!' That comment was a reference to Leakes' sitcom The New Normal that had just been cancelled by NBC around that time.

An online fan asked Leakes, 'what happened between you and Wendy?' She replied: 'That's a good question! I have no idea.'

and this is why i call those dumb negros idiots they sit at home watch reality and talk shows listen to those dummies and follow what they say. wendy has been telling people to leave their marriage and leave their spouses for years even without proof that the person has been cheating, thode dummies listen to her, now her husband cheated on her with his bank teller while she was pregnant he admitted it and she went right back to him with the excuse she forgives him because she was on bed rest, again all those who listens to her are like an empty bucket with nothing.

now he has been seeing this young chick for years when she caught him he admitted and guess what she went right back to her husband, now this is a woman who publicly admits how she does everything to keep that man as well as advising other women to do the same, she admits she has use coochie cream to tighting her vagina, and when he feels it still not tight she admits she has anal sex and tell every woman to do so, now she does all that because she knows a woman like her can only be kept if she has money and the dude is dumb and broke, and that case he is not dumb he is the force behind her business he negotiate s=just about every contract, if everyone remember before the talk show he is the one who negotiated that she televise her radio show on live Tv on wbls and a man like that deserve a pretty young thing like honey here in the picture, its not about keeping its about getting them, if this one is gone there will be many more young thing in line with a red bentley and money, yes now thats what im talking about whendy is old and wrinkle and now she has health problem she is done, or find a tired body like her, as for kein he has been taking care of himself and by the way if she is not with kevin no more a lot of people will get at her for payback, he was also her security why so many people didnt b**** slap her

what dont she just sit her n***** ass down, those mufuckers dont do nothing that can help the black community and they are on tv being watch by white america everyday, the biggest platform and the vehicle to raise awareness, she couldnt do just that, but so many cherish her, she is their role model
