Taxstone Arrested In Connection With Troy Ave Irving Plaza Shooting At T.I. Concert

Troy Ave appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court on Friday, February 10, for a pre-trial hearing regarding the attempted murder charge he received following his arrest last year for allegedly being involved in a shooting that took place at Irving Plaza in New York City.

Ronald McPhatter was killed and three people were injured, including Troy when shots rang out backstage on May 25, 2016, during a T.I. concert.

The Brooklyn, New York native and BSB Records CEO, showed up in court wearing a floor-length fur coat and bullet proof vest.

He received good news when prosecutors agreed to drop the travel restrictions that were one of the conditions of his $500,000 bailagreement.

Troy, born Roland Collins, can now resume performing and promoting his music at various venues across the country.

“He has a couple of tour dates lined up,” his lawyer John Stella told theNew York Daily News. “They'll start announcing them as early as (Saturday). He’s got an event in North Carolina that's coming together. He's very happy."

Troy is still recovering after being shot again on December 25, 2016, while he was driving in Brooklyn.

"I still get headaches sometimes because there's still a bullet in my head so it'll be throbbing," he said. "I got a bullet in my back so it's hard to sleep. My son likes to pretend he's Batman I'm still trying to get through the pain but It's better than being dead."

Taxstone, born Daryl Campbell, the host of the "Tax Season" podcast, was arrested Monday, January 16, by U.S. Marshals New York, New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and NYPD in Brooklyn.

Prosecutors allege that he was also involved in the Irving Plaza shooting, citing his Troy's and McPhatter's DNA being on the 9-millimeter Kel-Tec semiautomatic handgun used that night. But because Tax's was allegedly on the trigger, hand grip and magazine of the weapon, prosecutors believe it belonged to him. He is currently being held without bail.

As we previously reported, beef between Troy and Taxstone has been simmering for several years.

The New York Police Department have made a second arrest in connection to the May 25, 2016 Irving Plaza shooting.

NBC NY reports that Taxstone of the podcast "Tax Season" was picked up Monday, January 16, by U.S. Marshals New York, New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and NYPD in Brooklyn.

Tax, born Daryl Campbell, was wanted for questioning in connection to the shooting that took place backstage at a T.I. concert.

Three people were injured during the incident, including rapper Troy Ave,who was shot in the leg. Troy's friend Ronald McPhatter was killed.

Taxstone

Tax was also wanted on a federal warrant charging him with being a felon in possession of firearm.

Troy Ave

Troy, real name Roland Collins, was arrested after the shooting and charged with attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, after surveillance video emerged showing him firing a gun inside the venue.

He pleaded not guilty and is currently free after posting $500,000 bond.

As we previously reported, Troy was allegedly approached backstage by someone he had beef with and a fight ensued. A scuffle over a gun resulted in the shooting injuries and McPhatter's death.

Troy survived another attempt on his life on December 25, 2016, when a gunman walked up and opened fire on his Maserati while it was stopped at a traffic light in Brooklyn.

He was grazed in the head and hit in the shoulder. The rapper was hospitalized and later released with the bullet still in his shoulder and a fragment lodged in his head.

Doctors plan to remove them at a later date.

No arrests have been made in connection with that shooting.

Troy Ave Hospitalized After Being Shot In The Shoulder, Grazed In The Head During Christmas Day Shooting

With his head bandaged and left arm in a sling, Troy Ave, walked out of a hospital under his own power Monday night, December 26, a day after being ambushed by a gunman in Brooklyn, New York.

The BSB Records boss suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was grazed in the head, when a man with a hoodie pulled down over his face approached his red Maserati while it was at an intersection and opened fire at around 5:00 in the afternoon on Christmas Day.

ABC 7 New York reports that after being wounded Troy put his car in reverse and while traveling at a high rate of speed, jumped a median, before being hit by another car.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Doctors made the decision not to take the bullets out at this time, leaving the rapper with one still lodged in his back and a fragment in his head.

Troy will have surgery at a later date to have them removed.

“He is very sore,” his lawyer, John Stella told the New York Daily News. “The doctors told the family that he came dangerously close to having a spinal cord injury — but it looks like there’s no lasting damage from the wound track.”

Troy's girlfriend was in the car with him at the time, but escaped injury.

“DIVINE ORDER. My God is real. We were covered,” she wrote Monday on Facebook.

Police have no suspects at this time.

T.I. Speaks On Troy Ave's Legal Situation "All He Gotta Do Is Keep God First And He Can Pull Through It" (Video)

Troy Ave was injured on Sunday, December 25, when bullets fired by an unknown assailant grazed his head and hit him in the shoulder.

The New York Daily News reports that Ave, born Roland Collins, was driving a red Maserati convertible in Brooklyn, New York around 4:20 p.m. on Christmas Day, when a gunman wearing a hoodie pulled down over his face, walked up and started shooting.

The rapper's girlfriend was in the car with him at the time, but apparently escaped injury.

“He looked to his left. He saw that the guy had a gun and was about to fire, and he started driving away,” his attorney, John Stella said. “He continued driving and he reached the point where he was bleeding pretty profusely, and apparently a good Samaritan drove him and his girl a couple of blocks the rest of the way to Brookdale.”

This is the second time within the last 7 months the BSB Records CEOhas been targeted.

As we previously reported, Troy was backstage at Irving Plaza in New York City during a T.I. concert on May 25, when he was approached by someone he had beef with and a fight ensued.

As Troy reportedly attempted to wrestle a gun away from his attacker he was shot in the leg. His friend/bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, was struck by a bullet and died at the scene. Two other concert goers were also injured.

Based on surveillance footage that showed Troy firing a weapon inside the venue he was arrested and charged with attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

He is currently out on $500,000 bond.

Due to a lack of witnesses willing to come forward no other arrests in the incident have been made.

The rapper's attorney, Scott Leemon, issued a statement on the Christmas Day shooting.

“Tonight, Troy Ave was targeted again... on Christmas. In Brooklyn, going to meet his family for the holiday, he was shot two times. Thankfully, he will survive the second attempt on his life. As we have said from the beginning – he is a victim. We pray for his speedy recovery.”

Troy is currently hospitalized at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn.

Troy Ave Avoids Murder Charge In T.I. Concert Shooting. His Lawyer To Seek Bail At Next Hearing

TMZ recently caught up with T.I. to discuss the shooting incident involving Troy Avethat occurred during his Irving Plaza concert in New York City on May 25.

Tip didn't want to get into specifics about the case, but he did offer his support to Troy, who is currently locked up on charges related to the unfortunate situation.

"I got a lot of love for Troy. I think that he has enormous potential," Tip said. "I know he has his own relationship with God. All he gotta do is keep God first and he can pull through it. Sometimes things involve situations that go beyond what the eyes can see. For things like that you gotta step out on faith. Him being able to do that, that will make a difference."

Bullets From Gun Found In Troy Ave's Vehicle Reportedly Match The One That Killed His Friend Ronald McPhatter {VIDEO}

Troy Ave will not be charged with murder in last month's Irving Plaza shooting in New York City, but still faces significant legal obstacles.

TMZ obtained legal documents that show the BSB Records boss was indicted by a grand jury on one count of attempted second degree murder and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

As we previously reported, Troy's friend and bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, lost his life when gunfire erupted backstage at a T.I. concert on May 25. Three others were wounded, including Troy, who suffered a gunshot to the leg.

Troy, real name Roland Collins, is seen on surveillance footage firing a weapon, but NYPD believe both he and McPhatter were shot by someone else prior.

"The video does not show everything nor explain what happened in the VIP room before Troy came running out, as a victim, after he was shot," the rapper's lawyer, Scott Leemon, told TMZ.

Leemon will ask that his client be released on bail during a hearing this week.

NYPD Now Believe Troy Ave Was Shot By A Rival Prior To Getting Gun. 2nd Gunman Sought

Bullets from a gun found in a hidden compartment of the vehicle that transported 33-year old rapper Troy Ave to the hospital following the May 25th shooting at T.I.'s New York City concert at Irving Plaza, match the one that killed his longtime friend and bodyguard Ronald McPhatter, according to DNA Info New York.

McPhatter, 30, aka BSB Banga, died from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

As we previously reported, NYPD Detectives now believe that during a fight backstage at the venue a rival fired the shots that killed McPhatter and wounded Troy in the leg.

During the brawl there was a tussle over the weapon. Troy is seen on surveillance footage bleeding from the leg and firing a shot at an unknown individual, who was out of view of the camera.

A second gunman is being sought by police.

Ronald's brother, anti-gang activist Shanduke McPhatter, told Pix 11 that it was common knowledge that the person Troy fought with that night had prior beef with the BSB Records CEO.

Shanduke McPhatter

"I was aware of the ongoing beef that was happening with Troy and the other individual," Shanduke said. "I would not have let those 2 gentlemen in that club."

Maggie Carrie Heckstall plans to sue over injuries she sustained during T.I.'s concert at Irving Plaza

Two others were wounded during the shooting.

26-year old model, Maggie Carrie Heckstall, was shot in the knee. She has hired The Blanch Law Firm of Manhattan in preparation for a lawsuit.

“We expect to be filing a claim against all responsible parties," the firm said in a statement.

Christopher Vinson, 34, was shot in the chest, but is expected to recover.

Troy Ave is being held without bond until his trial after pleading not guilty to charges of attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, during a court appearance on Monday, May 30th.

Troy Ave Pleads Not Guilty To NYC Club Shooting Charges. His Lawyer Says "He's The Victim" {VIDEO}

As the investigation continues into the shooting that occurred during T.I.'s concert at Irving Plaza in New York City on Wednesday, May 25, a clearer picture of what happened is starting to emerge.

One person was killed and three were injured, including Brooklyn recording artist Troy Ave, who was shot in the leg.

Police arrested the BSB Records CEO and charged him with attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, after releasing video that shows him firing a gun backstage at the venue.

They alleged that he was the lone triggerman and accidentally shot himself.

PIX11 reports that detectives are now working on a different theory.

According to their report, the 33-year old rapper was approached backstage by someone he had beef with and a fight ensued.

During the scrap Troy and his friend/bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, were shot.

Ronald McPhatter a.k.a. BSB Banga died from a gunshot wound to the stomach

As Troy and his assailant tussled over the gun another shot went off. After that details get sketchy.

McPhatter, 30, died from a wound to the stomach. Christopher Vinson, 34, is recovering from a chest wound and 26-year old model, Maggie Carrie Heckstall, is recovering after surgery to repair damage from a gunshot to her knee.

Maggie Carrie Heckstall being wheeled to an ambulance after being shot at Irving Plaza May 25.

Troy appeared in court on Monday, May 30, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. He's being held without bail until his trial.

His attorney Scott Leemon said his client was the victim in this case and that McPhatter died saving his life.

"He was shot. He didn't shoot himself, nor his bodyguard/longtime friend who died a hero. The video released by NYPD is only a small sampling. The portion released was selective. What happened before? After? Outside of the frame of that one camera view?" said Leemon.

Troy Ave Caught On Tape Shooting His Gun @ Irving Plaza {VIDEO}

A rapper accused of opening fire at a deadly nightclub shooting was the victim, despite video showing him shooting a gun as patrons ran for their lives, his lawyer said Monday.

Rapper Roland (Troy Ave) Collins accused of attempted murder and of shooting himself in the leg was wheeled into court to face charges in the wild-west melee between shows Thursday at the Irving Place nightclub in Union Square.

After ballistics tests, Collins’ charges could be upgraded to murder in the death of 30-year-old Ronald (Edgar) McPhatter.

Collins pleaded not guilty, and was remanded without bail.

The shooting happened at a T.I. concert, before the Atlanta-based rapper was set to take the stage. He was not involved in the violence, sources said.

Collins, 33, winced as several officers and detectives took him out of a marked van and helped him into a wheelchair, where he sat with his right leg bandaged.

Collins pulled a gray t-shirt over his head as reporters asked him questions.

Prosecutors said Collins recklessly fired a gun five times in a crowded venue with no concern about the consequences.

Collins underwent surgery to have bone fragments removed from his leg.

"This defendant is on video coming out of the VIP room where the individuals were shot,” said Assistant DA Christine Keenan. ”He had the gun in his hand and was seen firing that gun in the direction of fleeing patrons."

Keenan said Collins did not wait for first responders after shooting himself.

"A van that belongs to him brought him to the hospital," she said.

Keenan said that when cops searched the van, they found three guns inside. She said a ballistics test confirmed one of those guns was the one used at Irving Plaza.

"This is still an ongoing investigation," she said, noting that there are pending charges.

But Collins lawyer, Scott Leemon, said the video tells only part of the story.

"What really happened here is Mr. Collins here is the real victim,” Leemon said. “The person who was killed at this event, he died a hero. He (McPhatter) was his bodyguard. He wasn't shot by Mr. Collins. He was a lifelong friend."

"This 11 seconds of video that the NYPD released, it doesn't say what happened before, it doesn't say what happened after. The scientific evidence will show he didn't shoot himself. This was another rush to judgement."

"In this case he's the victim and should be treated like the victim."

Two others were wounded during the shooting.

Bloodbath at rapper T.I.'s New York gig: One dead, three wounded and hundreds flee as gunfire erupts at popular Manhattan concert venue

TMZ has obtained footage of the chaos backstage at Irving Plaza in New York City as shots are being fired during T.I.'s concert Wednesday, May 25.

People scramble for safety as the gunman, who cannot be seen in the video, slowly fires 5 shots from what ABC 7 reports was a 9 mm handgun.

As we previously reported, 4 people were hit with bullets during the shooting.

Troy Ave was shot in the leg, but is expected to recover. A 26-year old woman was also shot in the leg. She is in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital.

A 34-year old man is in stable condition at Bellevue with a chest wound. The fourth victim, a 33-year old man, died at Beth Israel Hospital from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Everyone backstage, including the gunman, had credentials to be there.

Police Commissioner Bill Bratton blamed the violence on "gangster rap."

"The crazy world of these so-called rap artists basically celebrates the violence," said Bratton Thursday morning on WCBS AM. "Unfortunately, that violence sometimes manifests itself in their performances and that's exactly what happened last evening. The backgrounds of some of these people, unfortunately the lifestyles they led or had, follows them into the entertainment world. No question a lot of talented artists, enjoy the music. Music all too often celebrates violence, degradation of women and the drug culture. It's unfortunate that some of them, as they get fame and fortune, cannot get out of the life."

According to ABC 7, Bratton added that NYPD detectives "have a pretty good idea of what happened" and should be able to "wrap this up very quickly."

Live Hoffman, 19, was in the balcony VIP area to the left of the stage when the shooting happened. She said there had been some kind of argument between two groups of people before the shooting.

A girl she had been talking to was one of the victims. 'The girl next to me was shot point blank, and men picked her up and carried her out,' Hoffman said, still shaken by the events that unfolded right in front of her.

'For two-to-three minutes we still heard firing, still heard shots, we were clutching each other making sure no one was getting hit.'

Hoffman added: 'I ran out, just trying to look for my friends, just trying to see if everyone was OK. Everyone was hysterical.'

Police said metal detectors were set up at Irving Plaza, a 1,025-person ballroom-style music venue, but witnesses said security getting into the concert was lax.
