According to prison officials, the riot was actually a fight over gang territory and the use of the use of cell phones - thrown over the fence or smuggled inside. The violent altercation broke out Sunday evening and raged for seven hours.

When it was all over, seven inmates were dead and  17 more were injured. Officials are calling this  the deadliest prisoner riot in the U.S. in 25 years. No prison employees or law-enforcement were injured.

“What we believe is that this was all about territory, this was about contraband, this was about cellphones,” Corrections Director Bryan Stirling said Monday. “These folks are fighting over real money and real territory while they’re incarcerated.”

Inmates attacked one another with homemade knives, according to the Associated Press, as the violence broke out around 7:15 p.m. Sunday and lasted until 2:55 a.m. Monday morning at the 1,600-inmate facility. An inmate who witnessed the violence told the AP: bodies were “literally stacked on top of each other.”

According to the local eye-witness news station, "The state Department of Corrections also identified the inmates as Raymond Angelo Scott, Michael Milledge, Damonte Marquez Rivera, Eddie Casey Jay Gaskins, Joshua Svwin Jenkins, Corey Scott, and Cornelius Quantral McClary."

when you have money you can have what ever you want, if you have some types of power inside and outside you can have those correction officers work for you, majority of female correction officers are getting f*** by those inmate drug dealers, true criminals will have a new life in prison,a dn what you see is not all, it just leaks
