You cannot keep apologizing for making the same mistake over and over again thank you for your comment I really appreciate it but we as a people need to come together and get the teaching of slavery kicked out of the school if we don't do it all together it'll never be done one to one is nice but it doesn't always work so we have to start attacking some of our congressmen and senators so that we can get this thing going and it's never on the Statewide test so what good is it I mean I don't mind you know them telling you so that yes you were enslaved in a few aspects of it but that's it go onto the scientist and mathematicians the doctors everybody who made some inroads into the Unitedformation of the United States

You are right Smoochez, black history should be about more than slavery. They should be teaching our children about those that contributed to society. I hold many books on black inventors so that when my daughter gets in middle school or even before than, she can get knowledge about more than slavery. We have to teach them too.

Even if you don't have the money right now to form your own school they cannot stop you from policing the classroom we need to join together as out on PTA and each day will that somebody is available to sit in a certain amount of classes making sure that your children are being educated properly. You can police the classroom. and they cannot stop you from doing that. I've been with the Board of Education over 25 years and I've seen it all and advocated against the extreme focus on slavery and I've advocated for the teaching of black scientist, inventors and mathematicians. Slavery is not a happy subject there is nothing uplifting about it if you want to see total sadness on your child's face, take a look at them once the teacher has started teaching slavery.

With all of the immense events in black history why is it mandatory that schools throughout the United States have to focus only on slavery with all of the inventions that black people have contributed to and invented they always only select slavery like it's the only thing that ever happened to us. It demeans children of color and it teaches the white child how to treat the black child,, men and women. We, people of color, should sue the educational system for defamation and emotional abuse. Our children are being abused by the system. It needs to stop NOW.

If the Superintendent really cared and wanted resolution, he would have did more than issues a statement. The teacher should be disciplined.

Teachers should have to take sensitive training classes when it comes to this subject.
